The Needs Matrix


Today, we're getting hands-on with a simple yet powerful activity: The Needs Matrix. Grab a piece of paper and draw a four-square grid. In each box, we're going to figure out the following:

  1. Client Frustrations: What keeps your clients up at night? Are they overwhelmed with meal prep, unsure about balancing macros, or lacking time to eat healthy?
  2. Client Desires: What do they dream about? Is it easy, family-friendly recipes, better gut health, or just wanting to feel good in their body?
  3. Your Expertise Sweet Spot: What are you amazing at? What nutrition advice, recipe solutions, or coaching style sets you apart?
  4. Product Opportunities: How do these intersect? Can you turn a common frustration into a quick-start guide? Is there a recurring theme that would work well for a monthly membership?

By laying out these core elements, you'll have a clearer picture of what your audience truly needs and how you can serve them best with your own special twist. Start small—focus on one box that lights you up and imagine a digital product that solves that specific need. You might just discover a brilliant idea hiding in plain sight!
